this is no prayer
Who: Asch and you, especially if "you" is Liam or Spirit
Where: Rook, generally
When: Backdated to the New Moon
What: Cranky teen has to stay inside today
Warnings: Potential abuse talk but idk we'll see where this goes
[Some people are happiest when they're busy, and by now most if not all of the residents of Rookshire will have caught on that Asch is such a person.
But even he has to rest sometimes, and the New Moon, with its complete nullification of powers, puts him very nearly out of commission. For the majority of the time, he's hiding out in one of those little offices with the cushy chairs, catching up on sleep.
However, those who might go looking would find him spending much of the daylight in the chapel, tucked under the light of the stained glass windows to continue trying to read as much of the book he brought with him as he can manage. Usually, he's there when no one else is around to interrupt the relative quiet. Look, y'all can do what you want over at Truth or Dare, he's good out here.
Those who come by in the actual dark of night instead observe him talking to the altar - not praying, except by perhaps the loosest definition, but perhaps using it as a stand-in for something or someone else.]
Did we really change anything? Or we just playing along, pretending we could?
[His voice is quietly resentful, but it's the resentment of knowing that he'll never get answers.]
